Title: shut up, seriously?

This is my life, I just tell it like it is…..

This morning I woke up at 7:00 and was at the Y working out by 7:55, I went home as usual and was just getting ready to get in the shower when I got a phone call. It was another RESTRICTED phone call, but I picked it up anyways. As soon as I did, I was blown away. I recognized the voice right away, and when he told me who he was for himself, when I actually heard the audio play into my ears, I actually had the breath taken out of me.Now you might be thinking, well all this is a bit much Mikey, but I kid you not. Charles called me up and we spoke for a good 34 minutes and 26 seconds this morning about subjects ranging from his past life, to positively affecting the youth of today. What a crazy experience, just 2 days ago I was watching a movie about this guy, talking with my friends about how it would be crazy to be able to meet him. And then I get to talk with him on the phone. Not only that, but Charles & his wife said that they admired the things I have done… WHAT?!?!? It is so interesting to me, to see how everything unfolded. Right from the get go, when we (my friends and I) were in Blockbuster, it was strange. Josh(friend) wanted to watch Harold and Kumar 2 Escape from Guantanamo Bay…but I thought that looked stupid and mindless so I was very defiant as soon as the suggestion was made. We kept looking and Josh kept trying to talk me into Harold & Kumar. Well, we look and look and look and finally get down to the last wall of movies. Tony who was quiet the whole time says, “hey, look it’s Cocaine Cowboys 2.” We all agreed & the rest is history. All the little things really do make a difference.

I hope this message finds you in the best of health. I was wondering if there was anyway I could get an advance copy of Cocaine Cowboys 2 or will I have to wait until July 29th like everyone else? Im really dying to see part 2, and Im extremely interested in seeing and hearing your side of the story.

Im in awe of you and I must confess; you must have had huge balls to make the first step in contacting Griselda Blanco and ask her what she can do for you. I give you mad props. Im so happy that the Las Vegas premiere for Cocaine Cowboys 2 was a success and that you are getting so much publicity. You deserve it!

BTW you are a very handsome man, and for someone who came from nothing and became a multi-millionaire in a matter of months of meeting Griselda Blanco truly fascinates me.
Like you, I too wanted to be an attorney but my partying got in the way, so I settled for second best and became a paralegal instead, that’s been my profession for almost 23 years now. I actually do more work than the attorneys themselves, but of course they get all the money. LOL

Again, I was just wondering if I could get an advance copy of Cocaine Cowboys 2, as Im dying, and I mean literally dying, to see it. Im obsessed w/the first Cocaine Cowboys, I even downloaded it to my IPOD. Now i’m waiting for Cocaine Cowboys 2…I’m very interested in hearing more on your relationship with Griselda Blanco.

I am both appreciative and humbled by the amazing support I have received. I feel incredibly blessed and honored. I’ve met so many wonderful & down to earth people in cyberland; from Sweden, to Germany, London, Australia, Brazil, Japan, the UK & so many other countries. The outpouring of love at times has been overwhelming. I am a firm believer that God places people in certain situations to be a light of inspiration to others — and hopefully that’s what I’ve become!! I have survived through so many negative situations and Im still here to tell my story. It’s my turn to save lives. Our kids aren’t listening to the teachers or the preachers, but they’ll listen to me ’cause I am an example of the best & the worst that life has to offer!! I want my redemption to serve as an example that there are more opportunities for a young person, particularily of color, than selling drugs or carring concealed weapons. We are losing too many of our children. 20 years ago I caused the same grief on the same streets…But I found myself! And now I want to help the young guys who are lost, find themselves. I can’t stress enough how important it is to put down the guns! Let your real characters shine. Stop worrying how you’re preceived by others. Live for tomorrow, not just today!! Because at the end of the day it’s not about what brand names you’re wearing, what model car you drive, or how many “important” people you claim to know. Its about being able to look at yourself in a mirror & be proud of what you see! You have a choice to make the choice!
