Magnet (www.magnetreleasing.com), the genre arm of Magnolia Pictures, announced today the acquisition of world distribution rights to rakontur’s COCAINE COWBOYS 2: HUSTLIN’ WITH THE GODMOTHER - the highly anticipated sequel to the successful documentary COCAINE COWBOYS, released by Magnolia Pictures in 2006. These documentaries have struck a chord with fans of the gangster genre—in fact multiple major Hollywood productions based on the COCAINE COWBOYS docs are in production, including a Mark Wahlberg feature directed by Peter Berg.
Magnolia’s Laird Adamson is handling sales of foreign territories for COCAINE COWBOYS 2: HUSTLIN’ WITH THE GODMOTHER beginning this week in Berlin. Anticipated interest in the film is high, as the original COCAINE COWBOYS sold in over 25 territories.
I am both appreciative and humbled by the amazing support I have received. I feel incredibly blessed and honored. I’ve met so many wonderful & down to earth people in cyberland; from Sweden, to Germany, London, Australia, Brazil, Japan, the UK & so many other countries. We are losing too many of our children. 20 years ago I caused the same grief on the same streets…But I found myself! And now I want to help the young guys who are lost, find themselves. I can’t stress enough how important it is to put down the guns! Let your real characters shine. Stop worrying how you’re preceived by others. Live for tomorrow, not just today!! Because at the end of the day it’s not about what brand names you’re wearing, what model car you drive, or how many “important” people you claim to know.
